About Us

OUR DREAM TEAM

If someone were to analyze the team we’ve built here at First Look Social, some common themes would quickly emerge. In one form or another, we’re all extreme athletes. From a professional golfer to a Division 1 track & field competitor, each of us is fueled by hard work, competition, and winning.

We’re also rebels who aren’t afraid to go against the grain. For example, one of our founders once embarked on a 500 mile walk just because he felt like being outdoors for a while. Our VP likes traveling to the most rugged destinations she can find. Another has played the Cello in a rock band. In essence, we’re the kind of people who never say “no” to a challenge or an opportunity to do something different.

First Look Social is, at its core, an Instagram marketing company that focuses on organic growth. We see ourselves as much more than that, however. We see ourselves as revolutionaries who fight with and for our clients to help their businesses grow beyond their wildest dreams. To us, that success is the ultimate “win.” We hope you’ll join us on the journey.

Collin Holmes, Partner/Social Media Strategy

How I got here:

The year was 2015. I was making the move from Cleveland to Los Angeles and needed a way to fund my professional golf career (not everyone makes Mickelson money). I knew I was innately fascinated by social media, marketing, and advertising. I’m also bit of a nerd when it comes to numbers, economics, and financing. An entrepreneur at heart, I founded First Look Social to meet all of those needs and passions. It must have been a good decision because nearly four years later, our clients’ businesses continue to thrive, our team has an unbelievable roster of professionals, and somehow my short game just keeps getting better.

Where I’m going:

When it comes to First Look Social, the sky’s the limit. We’ll continue doing what we do and doing it better than anyone else. In the meantime, I’ll keep chasing the things I love best: hiking, golfing, biking, travel, nutrition, fitness, playing basketball, and watching NBA games. I’m also deeply committed to understanding sustainability and plan to use my entrepreneurial spirit to help create products and services that will keep this planet spinning in a way that is clean, safe, and healthy for all of us.

Aaron Holmes, Partner/Business Development

How I got here:

I grew up on a cattle ranch near Tucson, Arizona. Watching that modest enterprise grow and thrive is probably what sparked my passion for entrepreneurship. Aside from working three jobs throughout high school, my first true professional venture was a roofing company that I grew to over a million dollar business with 40+ employees. In part, I did that by exploiting the internet in ways other roofing companies simply weren’t doing at the time. From that experience, I knew I could help other businesses reap success from the social media revolution. I also knew I simply wanted to help other people perform at their best. So I walked away from the security of the “known” and walked full steam ahead into First Look Social.

And, let’s be honest, that’s not the first risky walk I’ve taken. In fact, fueled by my love for the outdoors, I once walked all the way from the Oregon border to Santa Cruz, California – a journey of nearly 500 miles. I loved every minute of it and now realize that that trip is a great metaphor for my life – I’m not afraid of the journey, not concerned about what other people might think, and I’m always up for adventure.

Where I’m going:

I’m one of those lucky individuals who gets joy out of going to work every single day. Over the next several years, I want to continue to grow the First Look revolution by creating an army of clients who find unyielding success through our services. Away from work, I’m going to continue focusing on what I love best: my wife and daughter (and hopefully more kids – fingers crossed), animals, healthy eating, travel, basketball, and the outdoors. On my favorite days, you can find me sitting around the house with my family, laughing at everything and nothing at all, and indulging in the occasional double burger and steak (I can’t eat healthy all the time).

How I got here:

As a former Division 1 track & field athlete, I love winning. Early in my career, I saw that I could help my clients win at business by supercharging their social media presence. For nearly a decade, my career has been focused on that pursuit. I’ve worked as a social media manager, writer, and sales person. I loved all of those roles, mainly because I see each social media strategy as a blank canvas. It’s my job to learn every aspect of someone’s business and then turn that knowledge into the ultimate social media masterpiece. I love meeting new people and feel that I’m at my best when I’m working to help our clients succeed. I’m also a recovering stand-up comedian, which means I laugh a lot … mostly at myself.

Where I’m going:

I believe my colleagues and I are fueling a social media revolution at a time when our world itself is embroiled in a revolution of sorts. While we continue to grow our business (and our clients’ businesses), I will also continue to be a passionate political observer, an ardent women’s rights advocate, and a strong mom/role model for my two girls. I am lucky enough to live my life with those precious kids, two fur babies, and a guy who shares my first name. I am a serial hobbyist and, as I continue to pursue the challenge of new things, I will continue pushing myself in my established interests – like traveling to rugged places, hiking, CrossFit, finding the coolest recipes on Pinterest, and writing.

How I got here:

My life has been a series of unexpected pursuits. For example, I’ve been playing the Cello since age 10 – with classical ensembles as well as  rock bands. At 16, I moved to France for the summer and still speak a little French to this day. I’m an ultra trail-runner and have tackled trails in Yosemite, as well as rim-to-rim adventures in the Grand Canyon. I’ve run more marathons, half-marathons, and local road races than I can count and I’m currently a running coach for both kids and adults. Along the way,  I’ve taken that innate drive and applied it in hospitality, the music business, customer service, office management, marketing, and social media management. Simply put, I made my way to First Look Social through hard work, perseverance, and a desire to win.

Where I’m going:

In addition to continually fueling the First Look revolution, I will always participate in extreme athletics. In the coming years, I hope to run the Tour du Mont Blanc – which will take me over 100 miles through three countries in the Alps. To prepare for that, I’ll keep training here in Tucson by doing Barre, CrossFit, and spin classes. As a mom to 2 year-old Teagan, I am constantly learning about early childhood development, health & self-care, and I plan to take up sewing. I love travel, fashion, vintage style, cooking, and baking – especially interesting pie combinations.
